Great location near Matlock Bath, clean rooms, and friendly staff. While some areas could use a bit of upkeep, it's perfect for a short stay. Just be prepared for a few quirky details and a lack of full amenities. A cozy spot to rest your head.

Perfect Base for Heights of Abraham
I was eager to visit the Heights of Abraham as I have always been fascinated by its stunning views and fascinating history. Choosing High Tor Hotel for its prime location was a great decision, especially since it exceeded my expectations with its good shared lounge. I enjoyed unwinding in the cozy space after my day of exploration, where I could enjoy a drink and connect with fellow guests.
I did find the room a bit cramped for my liking, which could be uncomfortable for a longer stay.

The hotel is pleasant and fairly clean, everything is perfect. The location is central, just next door to shops and cable cars and all pubs and restaurants. Overall appetising food, plus there is The Remarkable Hare close by. Btw parking is possible on-site.

Tired decor and facilities!!! Noise disturbance from other guests and clanging pipes during the night!!! Bathroom fixtures require urgent upgrades for a decent stay!!!

More accessible seating in public areas would help.

The location is ideal for visiting nearby attractions, and the room was spacious with effective cooling during the heatwave. We faced disappointment when our pre-ordered dinner was unavailable just before our reservation. Breakfast had several service hiccups, including missing items and delayed coffee, which detracted from an otherwise pleasant experience.

Awesome views and cozy stay!
We spent 2 nights in a small but comfy room. The location is just perfect! We walked to the Heights of Abraham in no time. The breakfast was tasty, but the coffee took ages to arrive. Kind of annoying having to ask for cups too. Dinner reservations were a bit of a mess, but we found a cool pub nearby.
